FINLIT – Final Transnational Partners’ Meeting in Málaga, Spain

Strengthening Project Results and Building New Perspectives for Financial Education and Youth Empowerment

An Important Milestone in the FINLIT Project

As part of the Erasmus+ project “FINLIT for Rural NEET Empowerment,” representatives of partner organisations from Romania, Portugal, and Spain gathered in Málaga, Spain, for the final transnational partners’ meeting.

The meeting provided an important opportunity to review the project’s progress, evaluate its achievements, and strengthen cooperation among the partner organisations involved in developing innovative educational solutions for young people with fewer opportunities.

The FINLIT project aims to improve the financial literacy, digital skills, and critical thinking abilities of NEETs (young people Not in Education, Employment, or Training), particularly those living in rural areas and disadvantaged communities.

Reviewing Project Progress and Achievements

One of the main objectives of the meeting was to assess the activities implemented throughout the project and their contribution to achieving the expected results.

The key areas considered in the project included:

  • Strengthening financial literacy and empowering young people to make informed and responsible financial decisions.
  • Integrating digital tools and artificial intelligence into educational activities.
  • Promoting non-formal education as an effective approach to active youth engagement.
  • Improving access to educational resources for vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.
  • Enhancing the capacity of partner organisations to deliver inclusive and innovative educational programmes.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to reflect on the project’s overall impact and identify opportunities for further cooperation.

FINLIT Toolkit – An Educational Resource for the Future

One of the key outcomes of the project is the FINLIT Toolkit for Rural NEET Empowerment, an innovative educational resource designed to support the development of financial and digital competencies through interactive, practical, and participatory learning methods.

The toolkit combines financial education, media literacy, responsible digital citizenship, and the effective use of artificial intelligence.

It is designed for teachers, trainers, youth workers, mentors, educators, and organisations working with young people with fewer opportunities.

The educational activities focus on:

  • Developing personal budgeting and money management skills.
  • Understanding financial risks and preventing financial fraud.
  • Strengthening critical thinking and media literacy.
  • Using digital technologies and artificial intelligence safely and responsibly.
  • Encouraging financial independence, self-confidence, and informed decision-making.

Thanks to its flexible and practical approach, the FINLIT Toolkit can be adapted to different educational settings, including non-formal workshops, youth activities, community programmes, and training sessions.

Dissemination, Sustainability, and Long-Term Impact

An essential priority during the final stage of the project is ensuring that its results remain accessible, relevant, and useful beyond the Erasmus+ funding period.

The FINLIT partnership aims to encourage the continued use of the educational resources developed throughout the project, contributing to improved financial literacy and digital inclusion among disadvantaged young people.

Sharing project outcomes with youth organisations, educational institutions, teachers, trainers, and local communities is crucial to maximising the project’s impact.

The educational materials also offer opportunities for replication and adaptation in different European contexts, supporting the development of inclusive learning environments.

European Cooperation for Sustainable Impact

FINLIT highlights the importance of European cooperation in addressing the challenges faced by young people from rural and vulnerable communities.

The project brings together the expertise and experience of three European organisations:

Through international collaboration, the partners have contributed to the development of innovative educational approaches that respond to the evolving needs of young people.

The exchange of experiences, methodologies, and good practices has strengthened the partnership and created valuable opportunities for future European cooperation.

Looking Ahead – Financial Literacy as a Pathway to Empowerment

The final transnational meeting in Málaga represents an important milestone in the FINLIT journey, providing an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the partnership and the value of international collaboration.

Beyond the development of educational resources, the project promotes a fundamental message:

Financial literacy is not simply about managing money. It is about building confidence, independence, resilience, and the ability to make informed decisions for a better future.

By combining non-formal education, innovative learning methodologies, digital technologies, and artificial intelligence, FINLIT contributes to creating more inclusive and accessible learning opportunities for young people across Europe.

The knowledge, experiences, and resources developed through this partnership provide a foundation for continued educational initiatives and sustainable impact.
